On June 22nd 2010 (06/22/10 Janet Kuypers' birthday), Janet Kuypers was the feature at the poetry/performance open mic at "the Cafe" in Chicago (hosted by Janet Kuypers, but on this evening, Charlie Newman was the guest host). This video contains the poem "Too Far" (where she started the show wearing a blond wig and talking in a southern accent), the prose poem / short prose / flash fiction "the Apartment," the poem "Leaving", the poem "A Socially Accepted Target" (read by C Ra McGuirt and shown on projected video), the twitter-length poem "for Better or for Worse", "Most Accurate Metaphors" (read by C Ra McGuirt and shown on projected video), "I'm Really Going This Time", "Precinct Fourteen", the poem "Loss", the Janet Kuypers / Mom's Favorite Vase song "My Love For You Will Stay the Same" (music originally by Warren Peterson), the 3 travel poem "Keep Them Apart", "Only For One Night" and "Got On The Road Again" and then finally the Janet Kuypers / Mom's Favorite Vase song "What We Need In Life" (music originally by Warren Peterson). John Yotko played the acoustic guitar for the the Janet Kuypers / Mom's Favorite Vase songs, and said the male lines in "the Apartment" and "Leaving". Musician Victor Sanders played the electric guitar for back-up music for most of the poems throughout the feature, and played accompanying electric guitar in the songs performed in this show.
